MICRO 2026 Social Event
Part 1: Visit and Guided Tour to the Acropolis Museum and Plaka
Part 2: Banquet and Awards Ceremony at the InterContinental Athenaeum Athens
The MICRO 2026 Social Event will take place on Tuesday November 3rd, 2026. It will
consist of two parts.
Part 1 will be a visit to one of the most beautiful museums of the world, the Acropolis Museum (
https://www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en).
We will take a guided tour (in English) of the museum (approximately 1.5 hour) followed by a short (approximately 0.5 hour) walking tour
in the beautiful neighborhood of Plaka at the foot of the Acropolis.
Part 2 will be the Banquet at the InterContinental Athenaeum Hotel (Ballroom) where the Awards Ceremony will
also take place.
Tentative schedule (any modifications will be announced to participants through the Whova app):
Buses start departing from InterContinental Hotel: 15:30 (driving time by bus from the hotel to the museum
is 10-20 minutes depending on traffic; walking time is 20-25 minutes regardless of traffic). Last bus will depart at around
16:15 to make sure all participants are transferred.
First (Last) group enters the Acropolis Museum: 16:00 (17:00)
Guided Tour (Museum and Plaka) duration: 2 hours (participants will join their assigned group, receive an audio guide, and enjoy an English-guided tour of the Museum and Plaka).
First (Last) group returns to the InterContinental Hotel: 18:30 (19:15)
Banquet and Awards Ceremony starts: 19:30
Banquet ends: 22:00
