Visa Information

The MICRO 2023 conference will be held in Canada. A visa may be required for you to enter the country. For the most up-to-date information on whether you need a visa to attend MICRO 2023, check the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website.

Visa Support Letter Requests

If you are an author of accepted papers and you are planning to attend the conference and require a Canadian visa, we are pleased to inform you that ACM offers a visa support letter *before* your conference registration. This support letter will facilitate your visa application process. For non-authors attending the conference, you can request the letter during your conference registration.

Below, you will find a step-by-step guideline to obtain your visa:

  1. Send an email to [email protected].
  2. Include the following information in your email request:
    • Your name as it appears on your passport
    • Your current postal mailing address
    • The name of the conference you are registering for: 56th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Microarchitecture (MICRO'23)
    • Titles of your accepted papers
    • Specify whether you are the "sole author" or a "co-author"

Please note that the letter issuance process could take up to 10 business days. MICRO'23 Organization Committee has been working closely with the Canadian government's Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada’s Special Events Unit. We have obtained a special event code which will be included in the support letter. This code is intended to expedite the visa processing time, although the actual processing time may vary based on different regional factors.

NOTE: Please be informed that the MICRO'23 organizing committee will not be providing visa invitation letters separately. ACM officials confirmed that in previous ACM-sponsored conferences held in Canada, attendees have successfully used the ACM's visa support letters to obtain their visas without any issues.
